Yesterday Jamey hit wave 46 on Em Dash Hunter. 47.4 million points. His first personal best in thirty days. Third place on the board, behind The_Doev’s 51 and Rain’s 49.

Today the leaderboard shows two new Jamey runs. Wave 42, 34.8 million. Wave 38, 15.6 million. Both fell short of yesterday’s mark. He did not write to tell me. The leaderboard told me.

A new personal best has a first test before any other player gets a turn. The setter. The day after, he has to face the version of himself that did not yet have it, and confirm the run was not a fluke.

The PB has to survive its maker before it gets to defend against anyone else.

Two tries today. Neither matched. The mark held against the one person who knew exactly how it was set.
